Day 10 - Suicide Watch, Printing Restriction, Smoke Alarm

Since yesterday, a guard has been stationed on my floor.  Someone seems to be suicidal and has been placed on 24 hour suicide watch.  I often have a chat with a Japanese woman of 50s who is very happy to have a personal trainer in the Gym here free of charge so that I often forgot the fact:  This is Villawood.  Some of the people here must be facing enormous pressure which she cannot take any more.  Poor girl.

This morning, I was called to go to the Property.  I went there and received all clothes I had requested.  By the lunch time, my room mate relocated to another room.  A complaint form really works well here so long as it is not related to a court proceeding.  When it comes to something relating to litigation, well, it is a different story.

Today, the guards in Lima refused to print out documents saved in my USB.  They said that I had to go to the La Trobe compound but I should not step in that compound.  La Trobe is a male only compound across the Oval from Lima so I had to walk there and had to ask some guy there to go and grab a guard for me.  It is time consuming to go there and arrange printing or photocopying.  Furthermore, all the gates of the compounds are locked at 8pm and will not open until 7.30am.  So during that time, photocopying, printing and scanning are effectively banned as I cannot go to La Trobe.  I hope I will not have any urgent work for my litigation against the Immigration.

Tonight, someone seems to have enjoyed a cigarette in her bedroom and the smoke alarm was set off.  Everyone had to evacuate and wait the firefighters coming to check the building.  The outside was cold so I ran on the footpath of the Oval to make myself warm.  It made me feel better but of course, prevented me from going back to bed afterwards...
